X-Ray and Neutron Science - International Student Summer Programme at ILL/ESRF
The ILL/ESRF International Student Summer Programme on X-Ray and Neutron Science is aimed at undergraduate students. It will consist in a 4-week experimental project embedded in a research group of ILL or ESRF, together with a series of introductory lectures on the principles and applications of X-ray and neutron science (magnetism, materials science, soft matter, structural biology, imaging, etc.).

Functional materials can be any type of specially designed material with a determined function: semiconductors, polymers, porous media, molecular crystals or nanoparticles are good examples of them. Their special physico-chemical properties make functional materials so special. With this workshop, we invite you to share and listen the latest achievements in the understanding of the fundamental origin of these functional properties at the atomic level. This event emphasize on the use of neutron spectroscopy technique, but welcome any important highlight using complementary spectroscopic techniques and computational method |
