D17 with 7T

206OXHV26 (7T)

Stray Magnetic Field and Siting Issues on D17

We present below the magnetic forces measured on D17 with the 7T vertical field magnet 206OXHV26 and the new spin analyser installed in the nose of the detector tank. The use of this 7T magnet is permitted up to nominal field for two positions of the collimation: 0 and 7 degrees. The magnetic forces do not really depend on the position of the detector tank.

When working at low field, a guide field made from permanent magnets is added between the magnet and the detector tank to transport the polarisation. In this configuration, the magnetic field applied on the sample is limited to 1 Tesla.
