High Pressures

For working at high pressure, we propose a series of clamped cells, gas and liquid cells, Paris-Edinburgh cells and special sample sticks. Most of them are available from the pool on request. Sufficient advance notice to sane(at)ill.fr is required for their reservation and preparation.

The use of pressure equipment is under the responsibility of the instrument scientists and Local Contacts. Users are not allowed to handle pressure cells unless they obtain the agreement of the Head of SANE.

Clamped and continuoulsy loaded cells are consummable. The SANE team check their state and replace them regularly to prevent an incident. The choice of cell depends on many parameters, such as the pressure required, the sample size, the instrument used, etc. We also propose several pressure transmiting media: helium, FC-770, methanol:ethanol mixture, etc.
