D10+ with 10 and 15T

203OXHV39 (10T)

Stray Magnetic Field and Siting Issues on D10

We present below the magnetic forces measured on D10+ with the 10T asymmetric split-pair coil magnet 203OXHV39 at two take-off angles. The vertical magnetic force is strong and was measured with the magnet 8 cm above the normal position (thickness of the measuring device). In normal condition, the vertical force will be stronger so the maximum allowable field is 9 T.

158OXHV26 (15T)

Stray Magnetic Field and Siting Issues on D10

We present below the magnetic forces measured on D10+ with the 15T symmetric split-pair coil magnet 158OXHV26 when the sample table is the nearest to the neutron guide (90° take-off), i.e. for which the magnetic forces are maximum. The vertical magnetic force is strong and was measured with the magnet 8 cm above the normal position (thickness of the measuring device). In normal condition, the vertical force will be even stronger so the maximum allowable field is 10 T.
