Chemistry and soft matter labs

The ILL Chemistry and Soft Matter support laboratories provide laboratory space and instruments for sample preparation, sample handling, sample selection/quality check and complementary characterization. They are part of the Biology, Deuteration, Chemistry and Soft matter Group  (BDCS Group) of the ILL Science Division.

The main lab facilities are located in the Science Building, with the Chemistry Laboratories on the first floor and the PSCM Laboratories on the second floor. In addition, three sample preparation laboratories can be found in the guide halls ILL7 and ILL22. For more detailed information about the location and content of each  laboratory, please check here.

The soft matter support is organized within the framework of the Partnership for Soft Condensed Matter (PSCM). This partnership between the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) and the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) aims at providing users and staff of both institutes with a suite of instruments for sample preparation and characterization. More information can be found on the PSCM web page, including the list of available instruments and the reservation page.
