Stray Magnetic Field and Siting Issues on ThALES

We present below the magnetic forces measured on ThALES with the 15T symmetric split-pair coil magnet 158OXHV26. The measurements have been performed for several positions of A2 and each time for the worst A4 and A6 angles.

To summarize, the forces are acceptable and the 15T can be used at nominal field when the distance between the sample table and the analyser is 420 mm as shown on the photo.
