How it works

How does the SANS instrument SAM work?

The adjacent animation demonstrates the operation of SAM and the various components of its neutron optics. It also shows its polarized neutron option works.
SANS diagrams can take many different and often aesthetically pleasing forms. The animation presents a small selection of such diagrams collected from various SANS instruments and, of course, also from SAM.
