JDN2025
The JDN2025 took place from Monday 2nd - Thursday 5th June 2025 at Annecy Lake with a very interesting blend of scientific talks, a PhD award ceremony for Valentin Czamler (ILL-NPP), a special session on ‘invisible disabilities’ (involving several ILL colleagues) as well as on the last day a topical session on 'Research Infrastructures: Synergies, Complementarities, Data Analysis, Access Modes’. The latter involved colleagues from neutron facilities (ESS, ILL, 2FDN, LLB), other research infrastructures (ESRF, PSI, CERN, EMFL) as well as community related subject matter experts (EMBL, energy hub, fair data, AI4Science) providing short presentations and engaging in a lively exchange with the JDN participants.

X-Ray and Neutron Science - International Student Summer Programme at ILL/ESRF
The ILL/ESRF International Student Summer Programme on X-Ray and Neutron Science is aimed at undergraduate students. It will consist in a 4-week experimental project embedded in a research group of ILL or ESRF, together with a series of introductory lectures on the principles and applications of X-ray and neutron science (magnetism, materials science, soft matter, structural biology, imaging, etc.).

Functional materials can be any type of specially designed material with a determined function: semiconductors, polymers, porous media, molecular crystals or nanoparticles are good examples of them. Their special physico-chemical properties make functional materials so special. With this workshop, we invite you to share and listen the latest achievements in the understanding of the fundamental origin of these functional properties at the atomic level. This event emphasize on the use of neutron spectroscopy technique, but welcome any important highlight using complementary spectroscopic techniques and computational metho |
