The Laboratory Experiment Form: Why are we asking for all this???

Some parts of the form are now filled automatically using the data from the User Club, but here is what we need all of them for!
• Experiment number: identify the different experiments and follow how many experiments request access to the labs
• Local contact: he/she usually knows all the technical aspects and can give useful information on the sample handling/ preparation as well
• Experiment title: just for personal knowledge, it is nice to know what our labs contribute to :-)
• Arrival date/time: to schedule badge activation or lab induction if needed. It also allows to organize accesses for people arriving outisdeworking hours (no, it is not automatic…)
• Names of people needing the labs: to check if all the participants have a valid online induction
• Chemicals used in the labs: if you need them from ILL, to check that we have them and order them if we don't. If you bring them along, to have a trace of them and of the associated risks. Our nuclear safety officers (following a request of the French "Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire et de Radioprotection") asked us to record all the chemicals that are present in the labs, belonging to ILL or to our users. This form is our way to do so.
• Hazard symbols: for riskassessment
• Consumables needed: to verify that we have everything you need, some consumables might be standard in your laboratory but not in ours
• Equipment needed: to give you access to the correct labs to carry out all the steps of the sample preparation
• PSCM instruments needed: to put you in contact with the PSCM responsible if needed, and to give you access to the correct labs when you arrive
• Sample preparation procedure: to verify that you have everything you need, to address any potential safety issues, or even to foresee enough space for you to work if you bring in bulky equipment
• Long-term sample storage: to avoid finding samples 5-10 years later without knowing if they are still useful or not.
