Poetry
Sirocco

Was lag, an der verborgenen Steigung,

Esa mañana me quedaba dormido,
quise volverme a mi propio tiempo familiar.

Ode to Rex
Rise up Great Lizard!
Resist the throes of death.
Wistful is your demise,
A reign too quick cut short.
Your once yellow bright sun,
Has been veiled with iron,
By a rock of unplanet kindred,
Which fell to splash on Earth.
Live Great Lizard live!
The ones below still fear you.
Yours is a world of steam,
Of swamp and sand and palm.
At the first glow of that intruder,
Your eyes began to wet;
A stately life of loft and grace
Had come to pass in night.
Speak Great Lizard speak!
Your voice is loud and strong.
A wisdom of eons lived
Is locked within your heart.
Look quietly and understand,
Your kingdom and its lore,
Ere the dust strike you down,
And leave your soul to pass.
But alas your fate is frozen.
The hegira cannot be sought.
Only your bones of fossils future
Will last to tell the plot.
Be peaceful then, Great Lizard;
Yours is glory not forgotten.
Rest ye upon your sandy hearth,
With eyes turned toward the stars.
Autumn 1982
Les oiseaux se cachent pour mourir
Les oiseaux se cachent pour mourir
voulant fuir l'oeil pesant d'autrui
