“The Neutron Lifetime Puzzle: A Theorist’s Perspective

Benjamin Koch TU Wien, Austria

The discrepancy between the measured lifetimes of free neutrons using beam and bottle experiments has persisted for over two decades and remains unresolved. In this talk, I will revisit this long-standing puzzle from a theoretical perspective. I will  and give an overview of several intriguing ideas (including our own)  that have been proposed to explain the anomaly, including both conventional and more exotic possibilities.
