M complex - Pi // Oy
Spherical Neutron Polarimetry simulations. Case of pure magnetic signal: M complex and Pi // Oy
The incident polarisation vector is chosen parallel to the Y axis, i.e. perpendicular to the scattering vector Q. The direction of the scattered polarisation is shown in red.
The magnetic chiral term of Blume's equation leads to the creation of a component of polarisation parallel to the scattering vector. The polarisation therefore rotates towards the scattering vector direction. We can see that the cross-section does not necessarily depend on the orientation of the magnetic interaction vector.
