Un partenariat international au bénéfice de la science

Grand projet européen, L'ILL voit le jour à Grenoble en 1967 sous l'impulsion de la France et de l'Allemagne, rejoints quelques années plus tard par le Royaume-Uni. Ces trois pays sont les Associés de l'ILL. Aujourd'hui, 10 autres Pays Membres Scientifiques financent l'ILL pour le bénéfice de leurs communautés de chercheurs.

PAYS ASSOCIES

La France, l'Allemagne et le Royaume-Uni contribuent à hauteur de 75 % au budget de l'ILL.

La gouvernance est gérée en association avec les Pays Membres Scientifiques (listés par ordre chronologique d'adhésion) : l'Espagne, la Suisse, l'Autriche, l'Italie, la République tchèque, la Suède, la Slovaquie, le Danemark, la Pologne et la Slovénie.

Ils fournissent environ 20% du budget de l'ILL, le reste étant assuré par des revenus propres.
