Relaxation of "glassy" systems

Relaxation of "glassy" systems

IN11C with the large solid angle of the detector bank makes  measuring incoherent samples viable. Comparing coherent (e.g. deuterated) and incoherent (e.g. protonated) samples allows the direct comparison of self correlation and collective dynamics.

Coherent and incoherent measurements on PIB close to the glass transition temperature. Relaxation curves were scaled together from three different temperatures (B. Farago et al., Phys. Rev. E 65 (2002) 051803).
