International Workshop on Particle Physics at Neutron Sources 2018
From 24/05/2018 to 26/05/2018The Institut Laue Langevin (ILL) and the Laboratoire de Physique Subatomique et de Cosmologie (LPSC) are organizing an international workshop on "Particle Physics at Neutron Sources", PPNS-2018, the next in a decennial series of particle physics workshops held at the ILL.
Participants are cordially invited to present both experimental and theoretical developments on:
- Properties of the Neutron
- Fundamental Symmetries and Interactions
- Hadronic Parity Violation
- Search for eV-Neutrinos
- Gravity tests in the quantum regime
- New Techniques and Ideas
These topics will be introduced by invited review talks:
- Clare BURRAGE (University of Nottingham, UK) will talk about the “Dark Side of the Universe”, covering aspects of Dark Matter and Dark Energy for non-cosmologists.
- Vincenzo CIRIGLIANO (Los Alamos National Lab, USA) will put the theoretical motivation of searches for neutron-antineutron oscillations into the context of other searches for physics beyond the standard model.
- Carlo GIUNTI (INFN Torino, Italy) will review Searches for eV sterile neutrinos.
- Martin GONZALEZ-ALONSO (CERN, Switzerland) will present Beyond the Standard Model searches in systems with light and heavy quarks.
- Ernst RASEL (Universität Hannover, Germany) will review gravity tests in the quantum regime.
The year 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the discovery of ultra-cold neutrons. On this occasion, Hartmut ABELE (TU Wien, Austria) will give a commemorative speech.
The workshop will consist of up to 25 contributed talks and a poster session. Proceedings will be published in a refereed journal.
