5th International Workshop on Dynamics in Confinement - CONFIT 2020

After 20 years of workshops on "Dynamics in Confinement", we are happy to announce this year's anniversary edition, the 5th International Workshop on Dynamics in Confinement — CONFIT2020 taking place from 28th September to 1st October 2020 at the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble (France).

The CONFIT workshops gather experts studying dynamics of matter confined in space on nanometer scales. The dynamical properties of confined matter deviate appreciably from those of the bulk state. Confined as well as confining media may be understood in a wider sense. A few examples are atoms, molecules, organic and inorganic liquids and glasses, water as well as polymers confined in porous matrices, layers, films, micelles, clathrates, zeolites and metal-organic frameworks.
Besides the understanding of the fundamental aspects of confined matter, there is a growing interest in its properties for medical, life science and industrial applications. Batteries and fuel cells are only two examples where the dynamics of confined matter and confining materials are employed for their use as future green energy resources.
Research using different spectroscopic methods, theoretical concepts and computer simulations focusing on the dynamics of confined media will be covered in different sessions.

A special session will be dedicated to Bernhard Frick, the initiator of the CONFIT series, and his contribution to this scientific field.
