SIBYL: Scaling Incertitudes BY modeLLing
The PhD project SIBYL has the purpose of merging the advances in Fission Reactor Physics, notably from Generalized Perturbation Theory, to the current conversion efforts taking place at the Institut Laue-Langevin for a new Low Enrichment Uranium fuel.
My tasks range from design and optimization of burnable poisons involved in the new fuel element’s safety analysis, to the software development of deterministic and stochastic models for the High Flux Reactor, all the while testing and refining the performance of cutting-edge research methods focused on Uncertainty and Sensitivity Analysis.
