EMBL
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory is Europe's flagship laboratory for the life sciences, founded in 1974. It's an intergovernmental organisation with more than 80 independent research groups covering the spectrum of molecular biology and operates across six sites : Heidelberg, Barcelona, Hamburg, Grenoble, Rome and EMBL-EMI Hinxton.

External exposure
The exposure to radiation from an external source causes external irradiation. It occurs when the source of radiation is outside the body (radioactive substances in cloud form or deposited on the ground, industrial or medical sources, etc.).
