Technical form guidelines

The technical form (doc - 87 Ki) is to be filled in by all users who plan to provide their own experimental set-up.

You may use the form to describe the experimental set-up in some detail, and insert a sketch of your apparatus if you think it useful.
Please give a short description of the procedure to be used and attach (or send separately) any test certificates.

If gas bottles are to be used, please specify their volume. In the case of inflammable gases, we recommend one-litre bottles.

Any ancillary equipment supplied by the user must conform to French regulations. If in doubt please contact our Safety Office.

You are encouraged to settle any queries you may have concerning the technical or security aspects of your experimental set-up before submitting the proposal.
The User Office or your Local contact can help you find the most appropriate person at the ILL.

NEW from 2026 oward:  IT security rules applicable to ILL instrument networks have been reinforced. Instrument networks are isolated in their own network, strictly controlled, and remote access is only authorized via the Nomad solution. If you plan to connect your own equipment, use alternative configurations, or rely on remote monitoring/operation, you must contact your local contact in advance to ensure compliance with the new rules.
