09/10/2026 - 14h00 to 15h00 College 1 Seminar | TRIXIE – From Concept to First Experiments: Development, Commissioning and Applications of a New Neutron Imaging Instrument
Room 110/111 in ILL50 The TRIXIE neutron imaging instrument was developed and constructed at the LVR-15 research reactor in Řež near Prague, Czech Republic, as a collaboration between the Czech Technical University in Prague, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (FRM II). The project started in 2022 with the aim of establishing a versatile facility for thermal neutron radiography and tomography and providing new opportunities for national and international users. The instrument was commissioned in 2025 and became fully operational in 2026. This contribution presents th…

From 12/10/2026 to 16/10/2026 10th International Topical Meeting on Neutron Radiography
The 10th International Topical Meeting on Neutron Radiography (ITMNR-10) will be held in Village Club Les Balcons du Lac d'Annecy, France, from October 12-16, 2026. This will be the 10th conference in the ITMNR series being coordinated by the International Society for Neutron Radiography (ISNR). The meetings are an international gathering of researchers, students and users who are interested in neutron imaging (radiography and tomography) and its applications. The special focus of ITMNR-10 is "Neutron Imaging for the Challenges of Tomorrow". Topical sessions will cover the following …

21/10/2026 - 14h00 to 16h00 College 9 Seminar | Wound Healing – Redefining Fibrinogen Adsorption at the Air–Water Interface: an Intriguing Story with Multiple Layers
Layer-by-layer self-assembled structures of the blood-clotting glycoprotein fibrinogen have been resolved at a fluid interface using neutron reflectometry and complementary techniques to reveal an unexpected mechanism that contradicts a long-established adsorption model. The widely accepted monolayer tilt model, inferred over two decades ago from ellipsometry data, involves progressive tilting of a monolayer of fibrinogen molecules from parallel with the interface with increasing interfacial coverage until, at saturation, the molecules adopt a more vertical conformation. Our new structural fra…

MDANSE School 2026 thumb
From 03/11/2026 to 05/11/2026 MDANSE School 2026
MDANSE is a three-day, hands-on workshop where participants work through both the conceptual foundations and practical workflows behind calculating dynamical and vibrational properties of materials. Density functional theory, lattice dynamics, and classical molecular dynamics will be used to generate realistic simulated data, including inelastic and quasi-elastic neutron scattering spectra. The computational toolkit ASE is also introduced as part of the curriculum.
