As Research Scientist and Instrument Responsible, I support users with their experiments at the PF2 instrument, covering both Ultra-Cold Neutron beam lines and the Very-Cold Neutron beam line.
My personal focus is on very-cold neutron physics and the VCN beam line. One key project is the development of a VCN interferometer in the scope of the Austrian NextPI programme. I am also working on modernising the beam line and adding essential instrumentation capabilities to lower the barrier of entry for scientific exploitation of Very-Cold Neutrons.
As the instrument responsible for the SUN source, I investigate novel UCN converter coatings, materials, and their UCN storage properties as well as support the development of neutron optical components for the PanEDM experiment.
Additionally, I contribute to several projects that utilise Ultra-Cold Neutrons and Very-Cold Neutrons for fundamental physics, as for example the search for an Electric Dipole Moment of the Neutron or the investigation of gravitationally bound quantum states.
