Neutron training for Poland's Future Scientists

17 Apr 2025

The programme combined theory and hands-on visits to some of ILL's world-class instruments. Covering a wide array of neutron scattering experimental techniques - including SANS, diffraction, reflectometry, imaging, spectroscopy, simulations, and polarised neutrons - the students received expert-led sessions that connected fundamental science with applications.

Lectures were followed by practical demonstrations at the instruments, allowing the students to experience the environment in which neutron science happens. Dedicated sessions on sample environments, simulations, and biological applications further broadened their perspective.

Such exchanges play a vital role in strengthening ties with Poland and nurturing the next generation of neutron scatterers.
