About
Research Focus
Research Interests
- Dynamics and structure of molecules adsorbed on surfaces and in nano-cages.
- Surface diffusion and friction - mainly on carbon systems.
- Development of potential energy landscapes of surface adsorbed molecules using experimental and theoretical methods.
- Understanding of surface effects on the dynamics of confined liquids.
- Development of models for the description of the dynamics close to the glass transition.
- Dynamics of magnetic systems.
Technical Developments
Development of new instrumentation for neutron scattering (spin-echo and time-of-flight spectrometers).
Experimental techniques: Neutron and helium atom scattering, adsorption isotherms, standard surface science techniques.
Computational/theoretical methods
Classical molecular dynamics simulations, density functional theory calculations. Extensive use of analytical and finite element magnetic field calculations as well as of Monte-Carlo ray-tracing simulations.
