Focus on the different topics dedicated to multifunctional nanomaterials and cultural heritage.

Magnetic and Multifunctional Nanomaterials

Wet chemical synthesis of nanoparticles (e.g., oxide systems – spinels, perovskites, rock salts, ceria, metal – Au, Ag, Cu, Pt, Pd) and core-shell (magnetoelectrics, magnetoplasmonics, and exchange-spring and -bias magnets) with precise control over composition, morphology, and size.

Elucidating nanoscale magnetic anisotropy, exchange-bias and -spring phenomenon, and spin disorders to correlate magnetic behaviors for biomedical (e.g., hyperthermia, bioimaging) and technological applications

Supraparticles

Study of the closed-packing of an assembly of magnetic and functionalized magnetic core-shell nanoparticles and the effect of the functionalized layer on change of particle-to-particle correlations and magnetic dipole interparticle and intersupraparticle interactions.

Cultural Heritage

Non-destructive pigment analysis and structural characterization of archaeological ceramics.

Characterization and Radiocarbon Dating of Cultural Heritage Objects
