College 7
Spectroscopy in solid state physics & chemistry
College Secretary: Mohamed Zbiri
The activities of College 7 focus on neutron-based spectroscopic techniques (ToF, TAS, BS, and SE) to study solid-state materials relevant to a wide range of societal and industrial applications, while also advancing fundamental science.
The main instruments used for College 7 proposals :
- Time-of-flight (ToF) spectrometers: IN5, PANTHER, SHARPER (CRG)
- Triple-axis spectrometers (TAS): IN1-LAGRANGE, IN8, IN12 (CRG), IN20, IN22 (CRG), THALES
- Backscattering (BS) spectrometers: IN13 (CRG), IN16B
- Spin-echo (SE) spectrometers: IN15, WASP
