Getting from the Railway station to Minatec Conference Centre or Marie Curie Residence:
This is typically a short walk of about 900 m. Depending on which side of the railway station you end up you might need to cross to the other side of the rails. There is a convenient short cut using the underground passage inside the railway station. Just enter into the rail way station go down to the ground level and walk along the tunnel until you get out on Place Schuhmann. From there you can walk along Avenue Doyen Louis Weil until the end.
Public Transport in Grenoble:
Grenoble has a TRAM and Bus system allowing you to move around in Grenoble. All information on tickets and network can be found on

Getting from Minatec or Marie-Curie downtown:
The easy way is to take the TRAM line B direction "Gieres/Plaines de Sport" until Place Victor Hugo (city centre) From there you can walk and enjoy the old city of Grenoble.
Getting from Minatec or Marie-Curie to ILL:
Take TRAM line B in direction OXFORD until the final destination. Walk another 400 m along avenue Martyrs in northern direction until you rich the entree gate of the ILL and ESRF.
Restaurants, Pubs and Bars:
The majority of restaurants and pubs are in the old city of Grenoble. Just look around at Place Victor Hugo, Place Grenette, Place aux Erbes, Place Notre Dame or along the Quad Saint Pierre. We are sur you will find something to your taste. If you want to find out about our favorite places - come and ask ;-)
