FLYNN

FLYNN for ISIS and ANSTO

In 2010-2012,, the ILL team built two filling stations called "FLYNN" for ISIS and ANSTO partners.

Machine characteristics:

  • 3He polarisation > 70%
  • 3He pumping rate of > 1 bar litre per hour
  • Any desired cell pressure up to 4 bars
  • 6 optical pumping cells
  • 3 Ytterbium fiber lasers (3x15 Watt)
  • Electric motorisation for the titanium compressor
  • Coils able to "open" i.e. slide along chassis to give access to NSF cells
