16 November, delivery of the GRANIT mirror

After many years of tremendous efforts of so many people, a unique GRANIT mirror has been completed and delivered to Grenoble on Friday 16 November.

The GRANIT project consists of designing and building a second-generation gravitational neutron spectrometer with ultra-high resolution. Its key property is the storage of UCN in a selected gravitationally bound state for extended period of time using a closed specula trap.
The high quality of mirrors needed for the trap is at the edge of modern technology.

Valery Nesvizhevsky, the project leader, warmly thanks and congratulates all those who have contributed to this success, which willl for sure bring us exciting results!
