Test Laue neutron-diffractometer

Principle of neutron Laue diffraction

The Laue diffraction technique is very simple. If placed in a white neutron beam a crystal produces a diffraction pattern which is characteristic of both its lattice symmetry and orientation. This makes it very easy to orient samples and also to assess their quality. If the intensity of diffracted spots measured, this can be used for structure determination.
