A general view of the instrument

Here the instrument is at its old location (H17 cold neutron guide). It is set for a neutron wavelength of 4.5 Å an equiped with a humidity chamber.

Here the instrument is shown with no sample mounted and no sample environment. In practice D16 is often used with controlled temperature and humidity chambers, cryostats, furnaces, magnets, cryomagnets, high pressure cryostats, high pressure cells and an automatically positioned, temperature controlled horizontal sample changer.
