Meet your colleagues - discuss your research - interact - collaborate - participate

Friday 8th April 2011 saw the birth of a new event in the PSB Calendar. Conceived and organised by a committee of post-docs and Ph.D. students, the "PSB Get-Together" is designed to be an occasion when everyone across the PSB can meet up, discuss their work and find out more about the research that is happening on the European Photon & Neutron Science (EPN) campus. Over 130 people turned up to the first event, which took place in the corridor between the EMBL and ILL. Attendants ranged from students and support staff to technicians and group leaders. All five of the PSB partner Institutes were well-represented (EMBL, ESRF, IBS, ILL, UVHCI). Participants were able to meet colleagues, enjoy the refreshments provided by the organising committee and read and discuss posters presented by several PSB research groups:

The first Get-Together marked the beginning of an on-going series of events which held at different sites across the EPN campus throughout the year. The aim of these events is simply to provide an informal setting that promotes interaction between scientists, groups and institutes.

-27th May 2011, 17h00, IBS. Pillai group (EMBL), Cusack group (EMBL) and the ESRF group.

-8th july 2011, 17h00, ILL/EMBL corridor. The Protein Dynamics and Flexibility (NMR) Group (IBS) and the Viral Infection and Cancer Group (IBS) will present posters.

-23rd Sept - PSB Get Together at IBS - D. Panne Group (EMBL), Deuteration Lab (ILL/EMBL) presented posters.

-25th Nov- PSB post doc symposium at ESRF lecture theatre. Starting at 2pm to 5pm. followed by a usual psb get together (EMBL-ILL mezanine).

-15th Dec - at EMBL/ILL 2 teams from the IBS: Franck Fieschi and Thierry Vernet presented posters.

-30th march 2012 - 17h00 @ IBS entrance hall - Posters from EMBL HTX-lab (Marquez's group) and the HT-expression lab (Hart's group)

-27th april 2012 - ILL/EMBL Hall - Ruigrok/Jamin Group: Replication of negative Strand RNA Viruses (UVHCI), Andrea Dessen 's Group: Bacterial Pathogenesis (IBS)
