New theroretical concepts for neutron and X-ray instrumentation

Ph. Nozieres (C.R. Physique, 2006) has proposed a double resonance method combining resonant X-ray Bragg scattering with optical laser that blurs the Bragg spot. The idea is to detect the cross signal without resolving the satellite lines (which is often hopeless if the signal is weak).
R.Gahler, E.I.Kats et al., (PRA, 2005) proposed and investigated the imaging effects of temporal neutron lenses created by traveling magnetic fields. The method opens new fields of application for high resolution spectroscopy.
