The new fast CCD neutron Laue detector CYCLOPS was delivered on December 8th 2008 (figure 1). 


The preliminary tests with neutrons have shown excellent results. The Laue pattern shown in figure 2 of a standard ruby sample was obtained in just 50s exposure and 1s readout. Thanks to the combination of fast acquisition and readout, thermo-diffractometry and in-situ experiments can now be performed with the Laue technique, as well as following structural and magnetic phase transitions on a reasonable time scale.
