High-intensity two-axis diffractometer with variable resolution D20

D20 is very high intensity 2-axis diffractometer equipped with a large microstrip detector. Due to the extremely high neutron flux, it opens up new possibilities for real-time experiments on very small samples.

D20 has a refurbished detector. You might discover bugs and tasks having still to be perfectionated, please tell us! The change of wavelength is no longer such  a complicate task, but ask one of the instrument responsibles present. Except you want to change the take-off angle: this needs to be considered at the stage of scheduling, so please tell us quite early about your particular needs in terms of take-off angle. The instrument control software is based on the standard MAD but you will find some particularities. MAD can be driven from GEORGE, running on another terminal than theinstrument control workstation. The data format of the numors is different from the usual diffraction instrument standard because of the obligation by the informatics to join scans or stroboscopic acquisition together in one numor file. Any software using directly the numor format has to be checked therefore. LAMP is the only data pre-treat environment, and macros in order to calibrate, normalize, clean-up and convert the data are ready for use.
