Reflectometer D17

D17 is the first ILL dedicated reflectometer and it has been designed to be as flexible as possible in resolution and modes of operation. The instrument is suitable for the analysis of surface structures in solids and solid/liquid interfaces. Horizontal surface experiments, such as free liquids, will suffer from a severe restriction in Q-range and flux and are thus not recommended for this instrument.

COSMOS Tutorial

So, you've done your experiment, and now you want to use COSMOS to reduce your data?

WELL!  You've come to the right place.  Let's work through an example together, shall we?

You should start with:

  1. A copy of LAMP and associated macros, downloadable in source-code and runtime versions here.
  2. Access to your raw data in the original, uncompressed format, preferably on a local directory.
  3. A record of the D17 time-of-flight machine parameters.  Your local contact can tell you this.
  4. Your log book
