When you arrive at the ILL please report in at the site entrance. The ILL site is a restricted area shared with the ESRF and EMBL, you will therefore need to produce proof of identification (e.g. passport) to gain access. You will receive an envelope with your entrance badge, canteen card and a travel claim form (if you are eligible for reimbursement).

You will be expected to confirm by signature the following:

• I am insured against the risk of illness, surgical expenses and industrial accidents.

• The samples to be used and the experimental conditions are as quoted in the original proposal. (Any subsequent changes must be approved by ILL through the Local Contact - the forms are available from SCO).

• I will publish my results giving proper credit to ILL staff members and proper mention of the ILL facilities.

• I will respect the ILL regulations.

• I have informed my employer that the ILL is a nuclear installation and that I may be exposed to ionising radiation.

• If I have a pace-maker, I will consult the medical service before going into the experimental halls.

If you have not taken and passed your safety training course, you will be asked to do so before being given your film badge and radiation warning beeper.
Experimenters staying longer than 3 months must follow a 1/2 day safety-training course. You will be notified of the film badge dosimetry results by your own health physics or medical services. Please check that the address given on the registration form is correct.
