With its international funding and expertise the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) offers scientists and industry the world's leading facility in neutron science and technology. From its Grenoble site in the south-east of France the Institute operates the most intense neutron source on earth.

FullProf School-2012Institut Laue Langevin, Grenoble, France - 23-27 January 2012 Scientific scope: FPSchool aims to contribute to the training of scientists in treatment of X-ray and neutron diffraction data. The school is based on intensive hands-on sessions using the computer programs of the FullProf Suite. FPSchool-2012 will take place over 4 days at the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble, with lectures in the morning and hands-on tutorials in the afternoon. The tutorials will give the essential tools necessary to use productively the FullProf Suite at an average level. In addition to general applications, magnetic structure determination and refinement will be specifically addressed.
REIMEI 2012Institut Laue Langevin, Grenoble, France - 1-3 Feb. 2012 This event is the 2nd workshop organized within the REIMEI project on a “New approach to the exotic phases of actinides compounds under unconventional experimental conditions”. The REIMEI (Dawn in Japanese) project is funded by the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and is aimed to promote International collaboration. The present programme promotes work on actinide materials with an objective of trying to understand their basic properties. The target will be such f-electron systems as Ce- and Yb-based, U-based and transuranium-based compounds. The extreme conditions will be enforced on these materials by low temperatures, magnetic fields, and pressures. Particular focus is placed on actinide samples, including those containing transuranium isotopes, as transport of these materials poses severe difficulties. The idea is that international collaborations, where the people go to the samples, can make new discoveries.
2nd International 10B BF3 Detectors' workshopMDANSE 2012Institut Laue Langevin, Grenoble, France - 27-30 March 2012, Grenoble (France)
This school aims to train the students in the use of modern simulation tools in the context of analyzing and interpreting experimental neutron scattering data. It will be focused mainly on the practical training, so the number of participants is limited to 30. During the three days of the school, different examples and codes allowing performing and analyzing computer simulations and virtual experiments will be presented. Bombannes 2012Vacation Centre "Les Bruyères", Carcans-Maubuisson, Gironde, France, 7-14 June 2012 11th European School on "Scattering Methods Applied to Soft Condensed Matter" The 11th European Bombannes Summer School on “Scattering Methods Applied to Soft Condensed Matter” offers a one-week high-level training for about 35 PhD-students and young researchers.
