16-21 March 2008, Chamrousse, France

Topics

The workshop is aimed at the presentation of recent experiments, results and ideas for future work on exotic nuclei at existing facilities such as the ILL, GANIL, GSI, ISOLDE, JYFL, ALTO, LNL, etc. using beta-decay, isomer, in-beam and laser spectroscopy, as well as lifetime and magnetic moment measurements.

Sessions will be focused on the current status of experimental and theoretical studies in particular regions of the nuclear chart (such as 208Pb, 132Sn, 100Zr, 78Ni, 48Ca) with presentations highlighting recent progress and remaining questions. In each session no distinctions will be made concerning the techniques used to study the nuclear properties of the region as different techniques often bring complementary information. This will allow a coherent picture of the current status of knowledge in each region to be presented.

Emphasis will also be placed on future studies possible at currently existing facilities, which still have much to offer over the next few years. One of the main aims of the workshop is to reinforce current collaborations, and create new ones in areas of mutual interest.

Presentations

There will be only oral presentations in a plenary session, no posters.

Proceedings

There will be no printed proceedings, but the presentations will be published on a website and the participants will receive a CD with the presentations.
