The inspection of 18 October 2007 examined ILL's management of its internal testing and maintenance operations. The inspectors noted the regulations to be applied in this domain and performed a random inspection of the ILL's maintenance and testing reports. They also visited areas where testing or maintenance operations were being performed.
At the end of the inspection, on the evidence of information obtained during its meetings, the inspectors considered that the ILL was managing these operations in a satisfactory manner. It seems however that some of the commitments made in the past remain outstanding, most notably the preparation of a programme of preventive surveillance for the ILL's civil engineering structures. A number of minor observations were made following the visit to inspect the maintenance operations.
