The 17 April 2007 inspection was held to check the ILL's compliance with the commitments it had made in response to enquiries raised following the inspections of 2005 and 2006 and during the examination of the significant activity of these years.

 The inspectors' investigations involved a number of random checks, on the ILL's documentation in particular.

At the end of the inspection the inspectors considered that the ILL was globally respecting its commitments, even if a number of actions had not yet been completed - the updating of the safety report being a case in point.  This report, it turns out, needs a significant amount of work, as both the reactor building and the detritiation unit have undergone major modification as part of the ILL's seismic refit programme.
