The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) is the world's leading facility in neutron science and technology. It operates the most intense neutron source on earth in Grenoble in the south-east of France.

A unique and versatile portfolio of research solutions
To develop new materials and industrial processes, to control emerging technologies or explore future avenues of research, many major companies have been turning to the ILL's specialised facilities, which provide a cost-effective response for rapid and efficient R&D.
Many of the research proposals submitted to ILL are related to industrial R&D. ILL encourages industrial research teams to submit proposals on scientific collaboration using its unique instrumentation. Consultancy expertise can also be arranged via ILL's own scientists and the international user community. Twenty-seven modern instruments are permanently available, accessible via a scientific review system or on a commercial basis for confidential R&D.
