Dates and Location

The workshop starts with the registration and an aperitif on Sunday 16 March evening. Presentations will be given in the mornings (ca. 8:30 to 12:00) and in the late afternoon (ca. 17:00 to 19:30). The workshop ends on Friday 21 March at lunch time. A visit to the high-flux reactor of the Institut Laue-Langevin is foreseen during one day of the conference, with transport provided.

Chamrousse is a ski resort in the Belledonne mountain range close to Grenoble where the alpine competitions of the 1968 Winter Olympic Games were held. Its 46 downhill slopes (92 km) range from 1400 m to 2250 m. Over 40 km of cross-country ski slopes, hiking paths and other leisure activities complete the offer.

The ski station consists of two parts: "Le Recoin" ("Chamrousse 1650") at 1650 m altitude where the workshop will be held in the municipal conference room (Maison du Tourisme, Place de Belledonne) and "Roche Beranger" ("Chamrousse 1750") at 1750 m that is 3 km away and linked by a regular shuttle bus free of charge.

Reduced price ski-lift passes for workshop attendees are being negotiated.

You are welcome to bring your kids along. ESF Chamrousse provides a day nursery for children of ages 3 months to 6 years and a leisure centre (skiing and other activities) for children of ages 3.25 to 12 years.
