The ILL recruits primarily in its three principal member countries: France, Germany and the United Kingdom, but also in other countries, in particular those which have signed Scientific Membership agreements with the Institute: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Vacancies are advertised on our web site, as well as in various media in the three founder countries.
Applicants are selected on the basis of an examination of their qualifications, experience, personal qualities and suitability for the post advertised. Applicants are considered without regard to sex, age, ethnic background, political views, religious beliefs or disability.
In the context of our Equal Opportunities policy, we particularly encourage applications from women, with the aim, among other things, of increasing the proportion of women in technical, scientific and management posts.
We firmly believe that the cultural diversity of our teams is our greatest asset: every day staff with different cultures, ages and levels of experience work together, thus allowing innovation and creativity to flourish.
As the three official languages of the ILL are English, French and German, we welcome applicants with a knowledge of at least two of these languages. If necessary, we can offer new recruits additional language training.
